Tropical storm Hanna, in the 'hood.
The beginning of the storm is just arriving in Southern New England, my plans for the evening have changed since it is literally going to rain on my parade. I was supposed to be marching in a FD parade, but after getting rained on the past two years at the same parade, I'm just not going. Instead, I'm watching old episodes of The West Wing. I just picked a used copy of the first season from half.com and have been quickly reminded of the quality in which the show was made.
In the pilot episode Jed Bartlett rides his bike into a tree while on vacation in Jackson Hole. All the senior staff gets a page that "Potus" is returning to town. Potus being President of the United States. My all time favorite show of all the seasons, which was actually the first episode I ever saw, is The Stackhouse Filibuster. It's in season two which I will probably look to purchase after I finish watching the first season. I think that was one of the best things about the show, it wasn't just entertainment, there were lessons about how our government runs that we were all probably taught in junior high or high school and had long since forgotten.
If you're in the path of Hanna as well, I hope you find something to keep you entertained and dry. And if Hanna isn't in your 'hood, I hope the nice weather is!

We somehow managed to skirt most of the storm here. The skies were cloudy all day and there was always a good breeze blowing, but very little to no rain.
Tonight we are keeping cool and dry watching Jane Eyre and eating peach & elderberry cobbler. We hope you are doing similar.
Nice day here
What a nice link to the migration of the sea turtles. We have released the 'little ones' with Marion a few years ago. Our time-share in Cancun also participates in protecting the sea turtles.
Great site.
